Donald F. Fritz
Donald F. Fritz, 83 of Lewiston, MI passed away on June 06, 2012 at his home with loved ones by his side. He served two tours of duty with the U.S. Marine Corps., was a police officer in the cities of Detroit and Grosse Pointe, MI. He moved to Lewiston in 1976 and owned the Villager Restaurant for 10 years and served two years as the president of the Lewiston Chamber of Commerce. He was instrumental in running the softball tournaments and constructing the ball diamonds on Buttles Road. His love of golf led him to become a ranger and starter at Garland Golf Course and later worked as a realtor at J.R. Huber Real Estate.
Beloved husband of Irene (Staelens) for 54 years and loving father of Diane McEvoy of Warren, MI, Susan (Jeff) Alexandrowicz of Shelby Twp., MI, Donald (Jennifer) Fritz, Jr. of Henderson, NV, Robert (Lori) Fritz of Henderson, NV, Linda (Adriaan) de Boer of Rochester Hills, MI and Judith (Mitch) Forst of Clinton Township, MI. He is also survived by his 19 grandchildren: Savannah, Erin, Shawn, Allison, Kevin, Paula, Mary, Miles, Elizabeth, Eric, Ashley, Susie, Dalten, Catherine, Steven, Jacob, Kevin and Antoine and 3 great-grandchildren: Anabelle, Vivianna and Mikayla.
Visitation will take place on Friday, June 8 , 2012 at Green Funeral Home, Lewiston from 4-9 PM. Funeral Services for Mr. Fritz will be held on June 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lewiston, MI, Fr Larry Sergot officiating. Memorials have been suggested to Hospice of MI, Gaylord.
