John Leonard Pierce
John Leonard Pierce, 69, of Hillman, formerly of Lake Helen, FL, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2008. He was born on February 17, 1939 in Caledonia Twp, MI. John worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years and was a member of the Operators Union, Local 324, Troy, MI. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid reader.

John is survived by his daughters, Toni (Mike) Ruffino of Sterling Heights, MI, and Lana (Eryk) Pruitt of North Carolina; son, Bruce (Melissa) Pierce of Roseville, MI; 5 grandchildren; and sisters, Earlene Rae of Hillman, MI, Pat (Alfred) Eller of Ossineke, MI, Mary McInerny of Hubbard Lake, MI, Joann (Don) Zelk of Alpena, MI, and Janet Spigelmyre of Spruce, MI. He was preceded in death by his long time companion, Joan Graham; and three brothers, Bill, Dick, and Earl.

Funeral services for Mr. Pierce will take place on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home, Hillman, MI, Fr. Mike Bell officiating. Visitation hours will be held from 1:00 until time of service at the funeral home.
