Norma Jean Mowery
Norma Jean Mowery, 79, of Lewiston, MI, passed away on May 29, 2008 at her residence. She was born on December 1, 1928 to Leo and Letha (Evans) Hubbell in Lapeer, MI. Norman and her husband have lived in Lewiston since 1989, spending their winters in Zephyr Hills, FL. She worked as a telephone operator for many years in Roscommon and also in Sault Ste Marie, MI. She also worked as a receptionist at Kirtland Community College. She attended the 1st Baptist Church in Lewiston. She enjoyed walking and country music. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and also loved to play cards and board games.
Norma is survived by he husband Allen, of Lewiston, MI; sons, Guy (Debbie) Smith of Florida, Jesse (Manon) Smith of Paw Paw, MI, and Carl (Marlene) Smith of Higgins Lake, MI; daughter, Carolyn (Dick) Sutton of Houghton Lake, MI; step sons, Steve (Diane) Mowery of Cadillac, MI, Tim (Helene) Mowery of Higgins Lake, MI, and Brian (Tammy) Mowery of Widby Island, WA; step daughter, Michelle Mowery of Minneapolis, MN; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Leo Jr, Bill, and Ralph.
As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services planned at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
