Mr. Nelson Henry Brandt, 83 of Flushing, Michigan died peacefully on August 7, 2019 at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc. He was born on January 28, 1936 in Flint, Michigan to the late, Henry and Arline (Boetcher) Brandt. He graduated from Hillman High School and worked for General Motors in Flint for 43 years, as well as the Railroad--a job of which he loved. He married his wife, Angela (Lee) Brandt on October 29, 1999 in Las Vegas, Nevada and together the couple celebrated 19 years of marriage before his passing. Nelson was an outfielder and played senior softball all over the United States. He was a five time world series champion and lead off batter. He was very proud of this accomplishment. Nelson won Class A Trophy's in horseshoes and was an avid bowler and lifetime member of The Moose Lodge. He spent his winters in Florida with Angela and enjoyed time spent with family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Angela Brandt of Flushing; sons, Jeffery (Tina) Brandt of Flushing; Michael (Denise) Brandt of Venice, Florida; daughters, Lori (Tim) Whalen of Paris, Tennessee; Jill "Mark Monos" Hall of Amherst, Ohio; grandchildren, J.R., Christian, Michael, Cassandra, Richard, Timothy, Jessica, Randi, Robert; and numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Marjean (Bert) LaFleche; Phyllis Coombs; brother, Richard Brandt all of Hillman; and sister, Janet Brandt of Swartz Creek. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Arline Brandt; and sister, Joan.
Funeral services for Mr. Brandt will take place at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Green Funeral Home, Hillman; Fr. Roy Horning officiating. Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM until time of service. Internment will follow services at Montmorency Township Cemetery.
