Arthur Maggert

Arthur Forrest Maggert Arthur Forrest Maggert, 79, of Atlanta, MI, passed away on August 17, 2006 following an extended illnes at Tendercare Nursing Home in Midland, MI. He was born on September 25, 1926 to Forrest and Alice (Hoover) Maggert in Miami County, Ohio. He married the former Freida Siedel on August 27, 1945 in Union, Ohio. Arthur served his country in the Army during WWII. Mr Maggert has lived in Atlanta since 1956. He was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church in Alpena, and a past member of the Atlanta Sr. Center and the Atlanta VFW Post. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Arthur is survived by his wife, Freida; sons, Rick (Donna) Maggert of Broomfield, CO, and Carl (Margaret) Maggert of Sanford, MI; daughter, Rose Graham of Jacksonville, FL; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother Emmit (Phyllis) Maggert of Union, OH; and sisters, Rozetta Tary of Burlson, TX, Grace Sanders of Bradford, OH, Verda Badgley of Troy, OH, and Eunice Pemberton of West Milton, OH. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 21, 2006 at 1:00 PM at St Paul Lutheran Church in Alpena, MI, Pastor Paul Owens officiating. Interment will take place at Avery Twp Cemetery immediately following the services. Visitation will be held at the church from 12:00 PM until time of service.
