Barbara Jean Mielke, 91, of Lewiston, MI passed away on Saturday March 7, 2020 at her home. She was born on January 14, 1929 in Pontiac, Michigan to August and Dorothy (Berferon) Lang. She married Gerald Mielke on May 20, 1950 in Pontiac, MI. Barb has lived in Lewiston since 1986 formerly of Drayton Plains, MI. She owned and operated the Talent Station in Lewiston for many years. She was a member of the Lewiston Sportsman's League and Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she was active in the alter and quilt guilds. She was quite the artist and loved to craft, especially quilting and painting. She also enjoyed being outdoors working in her garden. Above all else, Barb loved time spent with family and will be truly missed.
Barb is survived by her sons, Frank Mielke of Lapeer, MI, and Walter Mielke of Lewiston, MI; daughter, Mary (Allan) Walsh of Rodney, MI; 1 grandchild; 3 great grandchildren; and sisters, Pat (Wayne) Bennett of Lapeer, MI, Kay (John) McGinty of California, and Rosie Jordan, of Clarkston, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Dorothy; husband, Gerald; daughter, Susie Mielke; and sisters, Marie and Sandy.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pastor Steven Thiel officiating. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday from 11:00 AM until time of service at the church. Interment will take place in Glen Eden Lutheran Memorial Park in Livonia.
