She has resided in Atlanta since 2017 and operated and owned the Atlanta Country Cafe since October 2018. She owned numerous restaurants over the years with the Atlanta County Cafe being the eleventh. Throughout her life she spent time in Breckenridge, Key West, and in Michigan owning and operating the Songbird in Mio for the last ten years with her husband, Dan and daughter, Peggy.  Betty enjoyed playing tennis, hiking, and cross country skiing when she was able. She was focused, hard working, family oriented, and the glue that held them all together. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her loving husband, Daniel O'Brien of Atlanta; daughter, Peggy O'Brien of Atlanta; sons, Danny O'Brien; Vincent O'Brien both of Melbourne Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Cole and Kevin; sisters, Jane Areco of Denver, Colorado; Juanita Jones of Waterford; and Emily (Jim) Smoke of Asheville, North Carolina. As were her wishes cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember Betty privately at this time. A memorial service will be planned at a later date in celebration of her life at the family cabin on Muskelunge Lake. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested donations be made to Hospice of Michigan, Gaylord.
