Beverley J. McKenzie Beverley J. McKenzie, 65, of Grayling, MI, formerly of Troy, MI, passed away at her residence on Friday, June 4, 2010. She was born on September 3, 1944 to James and Jeanne (Galloway) Cline in Royal Oak, MI. She married Duane McKenzie on August 15, 1969 also in Royal Oak. She graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelors Degree in Education and went on to work for Royal Oak Dondero, Troy Schools, Bishop Foley and Holly Area Schools, teaching English at the high schools for over 25 yrs. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed arts and crafts; going to shows and doing needlepoint were some of her favorites. She loved to watch the animals at her home on the river. Beverley liked to travel with her family over the years. Beverley is survived by her husband, Duane, of Grayling, MI; son, Scott McKenzie of Troy, MI; daughter, Jennifer McKenzie of Rochester Hills, MI; mother, Jeanne Cline of Royal Oak, MI; sisters, Barb (David) Ochs of Gold Canyon, AZ and Elizabeth (Kevin) Gardiner of Royal Oak, MI. She was preceded in death by her father, James. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Mrs McKenzie will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church in Royal Oak, MI at 11:00 AM, Pastor Thomas Rice officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service. Memorials have been suggested to the American Heart Association or to Mercy Hospice of Grayling, MI.
