Carol Palmer

Carol Janet Palmer Mrs. Carol Janet Palmer, 81 of Atlanta, Michigan formerly of Midland, died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on the afternoon of December 3, 2018. She was born in Briley Township, Michigan to the late, Cecil and Crystal (Beech) Bowman Sr on June 25, 1937. She has resided in Atlanta for the last six months. Carol was a former member of the Trinity Wesleyan Church in Midland and Big Rock Congregational Church of Atlanta. She worked as a private home health aide for many years in the mid-Michigan area. Carol was a cub scout leader when her boys were younger and was famous for her homemade bread. She enjoyed traveling, adult coloring books, and doing crafts. Most importantly, she enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her sons, Charles (Deborah) Palmer of Durand; Edwin Palmer of Atlanta; Robert (Mindy Hilt) Palmer of Bay City; daughter, Bethany (Charley) Loney of Burton; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Cecil Bowman Jr of South Boardman; Bruce (Cathleen) Bowman of Atlanta; sisters, Ruth (Jim) Reed of Ft. Dodge, Iowa; Linda (Mark) Kinney of Atlanta; Barb Duby of Bridgeport; and Cathy (Gordon) Green of Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Crystal Bowman Sr; husband, Charles Palmer Sr; and sisters, Judy Bowman and Nina Scheifflee.

Funeral services for Mrs. Palmer will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the Big Rock Congregational Church, Atlanta; Pastor Keith Jones and Pastor Luke Hansen officiating. Visitation will take place on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Green Funeral Home, Atlanta and again on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church. Interment will take place at Avery Township Cemetery in the Spring.
