Charles Edward Kinsey Charles Edward Kinsey, 71, of Atlanta, passed away at his home in Atlanta, Michigan on July 29, 2006. He was born on May 6, 1935 in Mayfield, Kentucky to Robert Otis Kinsey and Edith Ione Graves. He married Shelia Maria Carey on June 25, 1977 in Hartsville, Tennessee. He worked hard producing fresh-picked vegetables for sale at Kinsey Farm in Atlanta with his wife for the past 29 years. Previously he worked as a Borden's Dairy milkman in Highland Park while living in Wallad Lake, and pulp wood cutter, farmer and mason contractor in Atlanta. Over the years at Kinsey Farm, he has donated many vegetables to area organizations and churches. Along with vegetables, he raised hogs, chickens, ducks, geese, beef cattle, and horses. His pastimes included fishing, hunting, trapping, gardening/farming, internet surfing, Sunday NY Times Crossword puzzles, creative cooking, observing wildlife on his property (lately including a gray fox), morel mushroom hunting, landscaping his irrigation pond, lumbering his forest for firewood and veneer logs, and was an avid Fox News Channel viewer - particularly The O'Reilly Factor. Charles is survived by his wife Shelia, their son Charles Allen (Crystal) Kinsey of Pinconning, former wife SueEllen Wellbaum (Valentine) of Gaylord, their children Kenneth Lee (Christy) Kinsey of Atlanta, Karmen Marie DiPonio of Grand Blanc, Deanna Ann (Clifton) LaRose of Gaylord, stepson Paul Edward (Kathy) Carey of Atlanta, grandchildren: Kenny's daughter Shannon Dickinson, Karmen's son Vincent Bryant DiPonio, Deanna's children Brian Joseph Head and Alysse Brenna-Maree LaRose, Robert's children Ryan Charles Kinsey and Heather Ann Kinsey, Paul's children Cheyenne Autumn Berryhill and William Paul Carey, brothers Robert (Constance) Kinsey of Lenox, James (Sue) Kinsey of Almont, David (Betty) Deans of Lowell, sisters Linda (Gerald) France of Warren, Betty Jean Bencheck of Grand Blanc, Dorothy (Dan) Drew of Oxford, aunt Francis McAlister of Warren, father-in-law Maurice Carey of Atlanta, sisters-in-law Valerie (Robert) Girdwood of Dansville, Ruth (David) Bradley of White Lake, brother-in-law Ross (Theresa) Carey of Traverse City, numerous nieces and nephews, and cats Gustafson and Gizmo. He was preceded in death by sons Kim Kinsey and Robert Charles Kinsey, and sisters Joanne Bodrie and Shirley Parker. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. immediately followed by funeral service on Sunday, August 6 at Big Rock Congregational Church, Atlanta.
