Dennis Michael Mihajlov, 79, of Atlanta, Michigan passed away peacefully at his home on July 19, 2026. Born in Dearborn, Michigan on December 30, 1946, Dennis was the son of the late Obrad and Helen (Cach) Mihajlov. He married Sandie (Herman) in 1980 and together they shared 46 years of marriage built on love, loyalty, perseverance, and unwavering devotion.

Dennis lived life on his own terms—with grit, humor, abundant love for his family, and an appreciation for the simple things that made life worth living.

From a young age, Dennis understood the value of hard work and family. He dedicated many years of his career to General Motors in Warren before relocating his family to northern Michigan, where his heart felt most at home. He came alive in the outdoors. An avid deer hunter and lover of nature, he found peace in the woods and excitement in every season. Summers were spent riding four-wheelers, winters were reserved for snowmobiles, and some of his greatest joy came from sharing those adventures with his children, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

A true collector at heart, Dennis appreciated craftsmanship and Americana. He admired classis Corvettes—owning several in his younger years—and had a lifelong love for Harley Davidson motorcycles. His collection of firearms, knives, and zippo lighters reflected his interests, but he also enjoyed creating with his own hands. Leatherworking became one of his favorite hobbies, and he took pride in crafting belts, knife sheaths, and other handmade pieces.

Dennis proudly referred to himself as a “good timin’ man,” and those who knew him would agree that he lived exactly that way. He loved good old country and western music, especially legends like Waylon Jennings and Hank Williams Jr, and he never missed an opportunity to “educate” his children by making sure they listened, too. His sense of humor, stories, and appreciation for the simple pleasures in life made him someone people naturally enjoyed being around.

Although Dennis had many passions, nothing meant more to him than his family. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and an adoring grandfather. No matter where life took his children, he remained their biggest supporter, always interested in their lives and celebrating their accomplishments. His grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy, and even as age and illness slowed his body, he still found ways to keep up with them, creating memories they will carry with them forever.

In recent years, Dennis faced health challenges with the steadfast love of his wife, Sandie, by his side. She lovingly embraced the roles of both wife and caregiver. Their journey was not always easy, but it was rooted in deep love, unwavering commitment, and profound gratitude for one another. Their enduring partnership was a testament to the vows they shared and the life they built together.

A lifelong Catholic, Dennis’s faith in Jesus Christ was a quiet but steady foundation throughout his life. Dennis found comfort in his belief in the Lord and the promise of eternal life. His family takes peace in knowing he has been reunited with his beloved parents, whom he missed dearly, and now rests in God’s eternal embrace. Though his presence will be deeply missed, his adventurous spirit, generous heart, and steadfast love will continue to live on in the countless memories he created and in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

Dennis is remembered by his loving wife, Sandie Mihajlov; children, Kristen (Andre) Willis, Andrea Mihajlov-Basel, Michael (Jodi) Mihajlov; and grandchildren, Andre’a, Brenden, Ashley, Owen, Ellery, Meghan, Hunter, Cambrie, and Beckett. He was preceded in death by his parents, Obrad and Helen Mihajlov; and sister, Cathy.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember Dennis privately at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to Green Funeral Homes.
