Diane Marie Spalding

Mrs. Diane Marie Spalding, 69 of Atlanta, Michigan died on June 19, 2025 at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland. She was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on July 18, 1955. Diane was welcomed into Heaven with outstretched arms by her late husband, Stanley who preceded her in death in 2009. Diane and Stanley were married on November 9, 1973 and celebrated 35 years of marriage before his passing. Diane resided in Atlanta for 11 years but has resided in Westland with her daughter, Sheila since 2018. Diane worked at Eastern Michigan University for 10-15 years before retirement. She collected precious moment figurines and cherished teddies. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching Sci-Fi and scary movies, cooking, baking, shopping, trips to the casino, watching the Detroit Red Wings, snowman, and her favorite holiday--Christmas. What she loved most was spending time with her family. She is and will be deeply missed. Diane is remembered by her children, Sheila Novakovich-Spalding; Lynn (Kirk) Hurd; Gary (Ashton) Spalding; grandchildren, Tiffany Hurd, Jody Hurd, Heaven Scott, Travis Scott, Stanley Spalding, Sasha Spalding, Stella Rose; great-grandchildren, Sirena and Ryn; siblings, Michael Anderson; Kathy (John) Murray; Susan (Patrick) Coulter; Patricia Anderson Scheurer; Cheryl (Oscar) Pettigrew. He was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Arlene Anderson; husband, Stanley Spalding; brothers, Paul, Robert, and Butch Anderson. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember Diane privately at this time.
