Edward King

Edward Allen King Mr. Edward Allen King, 66 of Hillman, Michigan died peacefully surrounded by loved ones at his home on April 26, 2015. He was born in Glendale, Arizona on July 14, 1948 the son of William and Bertha (Maynard) King. On March 17, 1978 in Winterhaven, California he married his wife, Sally (Tripp) King and together they celebrated 37 years of marriage before his passing. Edward was past president of the Fraternal Order Eagles 2843 in Glendale, Arizona and past state officer as well. He worked in the automotive industry doing paint and body jobs for almost 30 years at various shops. He was a country music musician for 50+ years and loved to play guitar and sing. He spent a lot of time with his mother's band, "The Back Roads" and in high school he won Battle of the Bands with a group of his friends. When he wasn't playing music or performing, Edward enjoyed being outdoors; camping, fishing, deer hunting, and shooting archery. He also enjoyed car drag racing in his younger years, owning a 1960 Plymouth 361 as his fastest car. Above everything he did, he enjoyed the time he spent with family and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Sally King of Hillman; sons, Allen (Nancy) King of Fulton, New York; Edward II (Valerie) King of Willcox, Arizona; daughter, Cassandra (David) King of Fulton, New York; grandchildren, David II; Cody; Galaxie; great-granddaughter, David III; Damian; Miley; Connor; stepfather, Loy McGuire of Peoria, Arizona; and sister, Anita Cook of Sun City, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bertha King. A memorial service will be held for Mr. King at 3:00PM on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in the Shaffer Hall; Hillman, Michigan; Marsha Marquardt officiating. Visitation will take place from 1:00PM until time of service.
