Edward Roby

Edward Leonard Roby Mr. Edward Leonard Roby, 98 of Johannesburg, Michigan passed away on January 2, 2015 at Aspen Ridge Retirement Village of Gaylord. He was born in Vienna Township, Michigan to the late, Elton and Ethel (Elsey) Roby on August 19, 1916. In Ferndale, Michigan he married wife, Shirley (Westmore) Roby on August 10, 1940. Edward was a proud veteran and served his country in the United States Army. Ed lived most of his life in the Johannesburg area. With a love for working and cutting wood, he owned and operated Roby's Wood Products for almost 36 years. Edward was also a member of the Heatherton Reformed Presbyterian Church. Above everything, he enjoyed his time with family and friends and will be dearly missed. He is survived by son, Ron Roby of Mt. Pleasant; daughter, Terry Truitt of Quincy; and grandchildren, Doug and Kevin; and five great grandchildren, Briona, Shawn, David, Morgan, and Alexis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elton and Ethel Roby and his wife, Shirley. Funeral services for Mr. Roby will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Heatherton Reformed Presbyterian Church, Johannesburg, MI, Pastor Raymond Morton officiating. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home and again on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of service.
