Eleanor June McElhinney Mrs. Eleanor June McElhinney, 86 of Hillman, Michigan died peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones on August 14, 2016. She was born in Millersburg, Michigan to the late, Lee and Ethel (Dawson) Finley on July 6, 1930. She married her husband, Orla McElhinney on March 28, 1948 and together the couple celebrated over 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2010. Eleanor resided in Hillman for the last 32 years, formerly of Mayville. She was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Hillman and loved to do crafts, spending time doing fabric painting and quilting.Above everything, she enjoyed her time spent with family and friends. Eleanor will be dearly missed. She is survived by her children, Thomas McElhinney of Hillman; Juanita (Richard) Lucius of North Branch; Geraldine (Carl) Litchfield of Kingsley; Lyle (Joan) McElhinney of Hillsboro, Oregon; Carolyn McElhinney of Hillman; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brother, Nelson (Alma) Finley of Las Vegas, Nevada; sisters, Elsie (Jim) Milner of Florida; Amy Finley of New York; and Pruda Bentley of Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Ethel Finley; husband, Orla McElhinney; son, David McElhinney; and sister, Phyllis Edinger. Funeral services for Mrs. McElhinney will take place at 11:00AM on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Green Funeral Home; Hillman; Pastor Carl Litchfield officiating. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM. Interment will take place at Hillman Rust Township Cemetery; Hillman.
