Evelyn Myers

Evelyn Ruth Myers Mrs. Evelyn Ruth Myers, 79 of Riverview, Florida passed away on January 1, 2015. She was born to the late, Guy and Flora (Webb) Elsworth in Gaylord, Michigan on July 21, 1935. She attended the Atlanta High School where she participated in clubs such as, GLEE and skiing. She graduated in 1953 and in 1954 won Miss Montmorency County and was third-runner up for Miss Michigan. She married husband, Earl Lee Myers on April 11, 1956 and together they celebrated 35 years of marriage before his passing in 1991. Formerly of Wisner, Michigan the couple moved to Florida in 1977. Evelyn was a member of the Lewiston Congregational United Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening, and canning. She also enjoyed the outdoors and would hunt with her husband, Earl. Above everything, Evelyn enjoyed her time spent with her family, having six kids within eight years. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by daughters, Rhonda (Dave) VanTudergen of Lewiston; Kristi (James) Farley of Flat Rock; Tammy (Bert) Berney of Lewiston; sons, Kevin Myers; and Michael Myers both of Riverview; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Ethyl Rhoades of Washington State. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Flora Elsworth; husband, Earl; and son, Kirk Myers. Funeral services for Mrs. Myers will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Congregational United Church of Christ; Lewiston, Michigan; Pastor Dave Engel officiating. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Green Funeral Home; Lewiston; from 6:00PM until 8:00PM.
