Floyd Marlatt

Floyd Rodney Marlatt Mr. Floyd Rodney Marlatt, 73 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully on May 2, 2018 at MediLodge of Hillman. He was born on September 25, 1944 in Dearborn, Michigan to the late, Donald and Naomi (Wilson) Marlatt. He has resided in Atlanta since 1976, formerly of Belleville. Rod graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in education and went on to teach at Wayne and Lincoln Consolidated for 8 years. While attending classes at Eastern Michigan University he earned the record for free throws. He finished his teaching career working at Atlanta Schools for the last 30 years where he also coached football for 20 years earning the title of "Coach of the Year." He also coached basketball prior to moving to Atlanta. Rod was a licensed well driller, an avid golfer, and enjoyed to hunt and fish. Above all, he enjoyed his time spent with family and friends and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Marlatt of Atlanta; son, Todd Marlatt of Livonia; daughters, Amy Marlatt of Atlanta; Allison (Alan) Sehoyan of Mackinaw Island; grandchildren, Rodney, Luke, Leon, and Ava; brothers, Don (Mary Ann) Marlatt of Atlanta; Ron Marlatt of Battle Creek; Ray (Sharon) Marlatt; and Harvey (Connie) Marlatt both of Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Naomi Marlatt; and brother, Lawrence "Tuffy." As were his wishes cremation has taken place and there are currently no services scheduled for Mr. Marlatt at this time.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Marlatt of Atlanta; son, Todd Marlatt of Livonia; daughters, Amy Marlatt of Atlanta; Allison (Alan) Sehoyan of Mackinaw Island; grandchildren, Rodney, Luke, Leon, and Ava; brothers, Don (Mary Ann) Marlatt of Atlanta; Ron Marlatt of Battle Creek; Ray (Sharon) Marlatt; and Harvey (Connie) Marlatt both of Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Naomi Marlatt; and brother, Lawrence "Tuffy."
As were his wishes cremation has taken place and there are currently no services scheduled for Mr. Marlatt at this time.
