Gerald Glowacz

Gerald Bruno Glowacz Mr. Gerald Bruno Glowacz, 69 of Sterling Heights, Michigan passed away at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord on August 31, 2014. He was born to the late, Bruno and Mary (Jawlik) Glowacz on May 26, 1945 in Detroit. Gerald was a proud veteran and served his country in the United States Navy serving as a medic in Vietnam and continuing in the Naval Reserves. On July 14, 1967 in East Pointe, Michigan he married, Sharron (Wilkins) Glowacz and together they celebrated 47 years of marriage before his passing. The couple moved to Sterling Heights over 20 years ago, formerly from Roseville. Gerald retired as a carpenter and locksmith with Ford Motor Company after 28 years. He was known as "Jerry the Carpenter" or "Doc" for many years. Gerald remained active as a member of the Atlanta Eagles 4077 and the American Legion in Mt. Clemens. He enjoyed to ride motorcycles over the years, building things, time spent at the gun range, and with family at their cottage in Atlanta. Above everything, he enjoyed his time spent with his wife, daughter, and grandchildren. He will be missed dearly. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharron Glowacz of Sterling Heights; daughter, Robin (Tommy) Van Acker of Sterling Heights; grandchildren, Justin and Jaeden; sister, Georgieanna Mileski of Troy; and niece and nephew, Kristi and D.J. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruno and Mary Glowacz. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services planned for Mr. Glowacz at this time.
