Helen May LeRoux Mrs. Helen May LeRoux, 96 of Traverse City, formerly of Atlanta, died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on September 18, 2017. She was born in Briley Township, Michigan to the late, Jesse and Alta (Manes) Wilson on April 20, 1921. Helen spent most of her life in Atlanta having moved to Traverse City six years ago. She was a member of the Big Rock Congregational Church. She could often be found running around with her sister, Irene and she enjoyed the time the two spent together. She also liked to take walks outside. Helen had an avid appreciation for music and was never able to keep her toes still. She loved to dance well into her 90s. Above everything she valued her time spent with family and will be dearly missed. She is survived by sons, Tom (Dolores) Waite of Mancelona; Jerry Waite of Kalkaska; Dick (Debbie) Waite of Traverse City; stepdaughter, Pam (Tom) Buckley of Grawn; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Alta Wilson; husband, Virgil LeRoux; son, Melvin, stepson, Tom; brothers, Woodrow, Les, Floyd; sisters, Doris Mowery; Irene Turcott; and Flossy Wilson. Funeral services for Mrs. LeRoux will take place at noon on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Big Rock Congregational Church; Pastor Keith Jones officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00AM until time of service.
