Helen M. Martin Mrs. Helen M. Martin was born in Rudyard, Michigan on July 26, 1914 the youngest of twelve children to Isaac and Margaret Keranen. Helen went to be with the Lord on September 30, 2015. During World War II, Helen worked at Packard Motors building P.T. boat engines. There she met George Martin and they subsequently married on October 20, 1945. They lived in Detroit, Warren, Farmington Hills, and West Bloomfield before retiring to Hillman in 1979. They were members of St. John's Lutheran Church of Hillman. Helen enjoyed swimming, cross country, skiing, crossword puzzles, canasta, and the retirement years at Ess Lakes with many wonderful friends. She is survived by one son, Michael; two grandsons, Sean (Sarahlynn) Gregory; and two great-grandchildren, Bryce and Nora Angelina. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Margaret Keranen. Funeral services for Mrs. Martin will take place at noon on Friday, October 9, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church; Royston, Michigan; Pastor Jason Mandley officiating. Visitation will take place from 11:00AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to St Johns Lutheran Church, Royston.
