Irene Covert

Irene Mabel Covert Mrs. Irene Mabel Covert, 97 of Lewiston, Michigan passed away on September 28, 2014 at Otsego Memorial Hospital of Gaylord. She was born to the late, Charlie and Ida (La France) Porter on September 14, 1917 in Onaway, Michigan. She has lived in Lewiston since 1981, formerly of Romulus. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Grayling. Irene enjoyed flowers and gardening, as well as crafting, sewing, and ceramics. Above everything, she enjoyed her time spent with family and will be dearly missed. She is survived by daughter, Nancy Ashley of Lewiston, MI, grandchildren, Lee, Neil, Jerry, and Sherry; 13 great grandchildren; and 19 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ida Covert; husband, John Covert Sr,; son, Jay; grandchildren Jay and Susan; brother, Jay; and sisters, Loretta and Elaine. Funeral services for Mrs. Covert will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Green Funeral Home; Lewiston, Michigan; Pastor Dennis Ormsbee officiating. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 1:00PM until 9:00PM and again on Thursday from noon until time of service. Internment will follow services at Albert Township Cemetery; Lewiston.
