Irene Naomi Marlatt Turcott Irene Naomi Marlatt Turcott, 91, of Atlanta passed away Friday, July 1, 2006 at Alpena Regional Medical Center following a short illness. Irene was born May 23, 1915 in Montmorency County, MI, the daughter of the late Jessie and Alta (Manes) Wilson. She married Donald Abbott Marlatt January 30, 1937 in Gaylord. He preceded her in death in 1955, at the age of 47, leaving her a widow with six boys to raise. On June 24, 1972 she married Frank Turcott, who preceded her in death in 1977. Irene was a member of Big Rock Congregational Church in Atlanta. She owned and operated the Cozy Corner Restaurant and for a short time taught school. Irene was an avid fan of sporting events at Atlanta High School, thoroughly enjoying each and every event. Irene is survived by sons, Don (Mary Ann) Marlatt, Ray (Murl) Marlatt, Rod (Diane) Marlatt and Harvey (Connie) Marlatt all of Atlanta, and Ron (Nancy) Marlatt of Crystal Lake, IL. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Chris (Tom) Ellingboe, Robert (Amy) Marlatt, Garan Marlatt, Kristen (Paul) King, Rob (Tammy) Lucal, Mary Jo (Dave) Guest, Dave Marlatt, Brent (Erica) Marlatt, Kendra (Mark) Sable, Chad Marlatt, Todd (Susan) Marlatt, Amy Marlatt-Neri, Allison (Alan) Sheboyan, Ryan (Kim) Marlatt and Meegan Marlatt Zann; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen LaRoux of Atlanta. Irene ws preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Marlatt and Frank Turcott, Son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence 'Jessie' and Gloria Marlatt, brothers, Leslie Wilson, Archie Wilson, Woodrow Wilson and Floyd Wilson and sister Doris Mowery. Irene loved her family and will be dearly missed by not only her family, but all her friends. One is never ready when comes time to part, but Irene will live forever in sweet memories in our hearts. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wedenesday, July 5, 2006, from the Big Rock Congregational Church with Pastor Ken McGarvey officiating. Burial will be in Briley Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
