James Harrison

James Arthur Harrison Mr. James Arthur Harrison, 79 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey on November 7, 2017. He was born in Imlay City, Michigan on July 1, 1938 to the late, Don and Virgia (Tedford) Harrison. He married his wife, Bonnie (Lawrence) Harrison on October 1, 1996 and together the couple celebrated 21 years of marriage before his passing. The couple has resided in Atlanta since 2002. Jim retired from Pontiac Motors after 30 years where he worked as a die maker. He was a member of the UAW Local 653 in Pontiac. Jim attended the Atlanta Congregational United Church of Christ and was also a member of the Atlanta Senior Center. He enjoyed ice fishing and trail riding on his Gator through the north woods. A man of the outdoors, he used to enjoy hunting and fishing and always loved to travel. Above everything, he enjoyed his time spent with family and friends and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Harrison of Atlanta; stepdaughter, Elizabeth (Vinh) Tran of Yokohama, Japan; and grandchildren, Devin, Lia, and Lexi; siblings, Janet Miller; Barb Nighswander; Richard Harrison; Donna Goulette; Carol Westbrook; Jerry Harrison; Jo Ann Wetherford; Larry Harrison; and Mary Strickland. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Virgia Harrison; and sisters, Beverly Ryan and Margaret McKim. Funeral services for Mr. Harrison will take place at 11:00AM on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the Green Funeral Home; Atlanta; Pastor Ginny Titus officiating. Visitation will take place on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM and again on Tuesday from 10:00AM until time of service.
