James Misner

Mr. James Irvin "Mise" Misner, 76 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully at MediLodge of Hillman on November 1, 2018 surrounded by family. He was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on August 1, 1942 to the late Donald and Wilda (Salter) Misner. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during Vietnam. Formerly of Battle Creek, he has resided in Atlanta since 2006. James retired from AAA where he worked as an agent for 32 years. He also worked at Jay's Sporting Goods in gun sales for eight years. He was a member of the NRA and an avid hunter of deer, hogs, and turkey using both a rifle and a bow. James loved to play tennis when he was younger and he was an avid golfer. He loved the beauty of nature and taught his grandkids how to hunt and fish. James was a gentleman, a romantic, and loved his family. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Misner of Atlanta; sons, Brad (Honorine) Misner of Danville, California; Jake (Cindy) Misner of Kalamazoo; daughters, Allison (Doug) Jones of Battle Creek; Katie (Tim) Goff of St. John's; stepson, Michael (Julie) Bell of Plymouth; stepdaughters, Amy (Jim) Collins of Flat Rock; Andrea Bell of Rochester Hills; 15 grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Misner of Greenville, South Carolina; John (Carolyn) Misner of Chicago, Illinois; and sister, Ann Wheeler of Battle Creek.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Wilda Misner; sister, Molly Mitchell; grandson, Jeffrey Jones; and brother in law, Joe Wheeler. As were his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial held in celebration of his life at 1:00PM on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Green Funeral Home; Atlanta. Visitation will take place from noon until time of service. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
