Mrs. Janet Lynn Allen, 68 of Hillman, Michigan passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026 at MyMichigan Medical Center of Alpena. She was born in St. Clair, Michigan on August 13, 1957 to the late Milton and Mary (Kraft) VanTiem. Formerly of Marysville, Janet resided in Hillman since 2001. While living in Marysville she was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church. Janet enjoyed playing games, whether it be a board game or a round of cards she was always willing to play. She loved country music. She liked baking and would make her famous poppyseed bread every Christmas. She was also an avid collector of snowmen. Aside from the hobbies she had, Janet loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She is and will be deeply missed.

Janet is remembered by her loving husband, Frank Allen; daughter, Casie (Alex) Grimes; stepdaughter, Charlene (Ron) Nuttall; stepsons, Frank (Stephanie) Allen, Richard (Trena) Allen; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; Godchildren, Racheal and Michaeleen; siblings, Milton Jr (Kathy) VanTiem, Jessie Sherbutt, Mary Ann (Douglas) Fowler, Scott VanTiem, and Darlene (Rich) Sutphen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Mary VanTiem; son, Richard Allen; stepdaughter, Susan Allen; brothers, William VanTiem and Robert VanTiem; and sisters-in-law, Cindy VanTiem and Sandy VanTiem.

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember Janet privately at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to Green Funeral Home.
