Joanna Hedwig Erb

Mrs. Joanna Hedwig Erb, 82 of Lovells, Michigan died on August 7, 2025 at her home. She was welcomed into Heaven with outstretched arms by her late husband, Kenneth. Joanna was born in Alpena, Michigan on July 17, 1943 to Joseph and Stella (Kozlowski) Donajkowski. She resided in Lovells since the early 1970s. Joanna was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lewiston. She had a variety of hobbies including fly fishing, hunting, cooking, baking, playing BINGO, and gardening. She was strong and independent and did her own snowplowing, as well as cutting and splitting firewood for the winter months. She enjoyed picking blueberries on her property with her daughter, Kimberly, and making delicious pies. Her friends and family were very important to her, as were her sisters, Vicki and Mary, of whom she was very close. Joanna is and will be deeply missed.

She is remembered by her children, Kenneth (Anne) Erb, Joe (Cori) Erb, and Kimberly Erb; grandchildren, Luke, Emily, Wyatt; siblings, Vicki Flanner, Mary (Leroy) Flanner, Mike (Linda) Donajkowski, Andy Donajkowski; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Stella Donajkowski; and husband, Kenneth.

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 26, 2025 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Lewiston. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until time of Mass. Inurnment will follow services at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery where Joanna will be laid to rest with a luncheon following in the church fellowship hall.
