Johanna June Wittman Mrs. Johanna June Wittman, 88 of Hillman, Michigan died peacefully on September 11, 2018 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. She was born on August 28, 1930 in Sebawing, Michigan to the late, John and Hazel (La Pratt) Bachman. She married her husband, Nicholas Wittman in Sebawing on September 17, 1949 and together they were the best example of married love celebrating 68 years of marriage before her passing. They moved to the Hillman area in 1974. Johanna was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Diocese Council of Catholic Women. Johanna enjoyed cooking, cleaning her home, mending clothes, dancing, and pontoon rides on Long Lake. She loved to go to sporting events for her grandchildren and she was devoted to her husband, Nicholas. Johanna will be dearly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Nicholas Wittman of Hillman; sons, Nick (Kathy) Wittman Jr; Bill Wittman; Joe Wittman all of Hillman; daughters, Mary Schwalm of Dansville; Teresa (Bob Clark) Hornbacher; Jan (Steve) Behring; Lynn (Neil) Morrison all of Hillman; Ann (Kris Duchene) Herrick of St. Clair; brother, Leo (Pat) Jaster of Show Low, Arizona; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hazel Bachman; stepfather, Leo Jaster; grandchildren, Maria Wittman, Amy Jo Wittman, Nicholas Wittman; brother, Paul Bachman; and sister, Fern Mench. Funeral services for Mrs. Wittman will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at St. Augustine Catholic Church; Hillman, Fr. Michael Conner officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Green Funeral Home, Hillman and again on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of service at church. Internment will take place following services at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery; Hillman.
She is survived by her loving husband, Nicholas Wittman of Hillman; sons, Nick (Kathy) Wittman Jr; Bill Wittman; Joe Wittman all of Hillman; daughters, Mary Schwalm of Dansville; Teresa (Bob Clark) Hornbacher; Jan (Steve) Behring; Lynn (Neil) Morrison all of Hillman; Ann (Kris Duchene) Herrick of St. Clair; brother, Leo (Pat) Jaster of Show Low, Arizona; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
