John Lawrence Murphy

Mr. John Lawrence Murphy, 83 of Brooksville, Florida, formerly of Gaylord, died peacefully on September 29, 2023, at Spring Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center in Brooksville, Florida. He was welcomed into Heaven with outstretched arms by his late wife, Norma. John was born on December 17, 1939, in Melrose, Iowa to the late James and Lola (Clayworth) Murphy. He enjoyed remodeling houses and hunting. He will be deeply missed.

John is survived by his children, John (Cheryl Sturdevant) Murphy Jr of Davisburg; Leandra Jean-Michel of Brooksville, Florida; Brian Murphy of Gaylord; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brother, James Murphy of Pontiac. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lola (Clayworth) Murphy; wife, Norma; daughter, Lisha; grandson, Allen; and sister, Leona.
