John C. Williams

DR. JOHN C. WILLIAMS age, 96, of Crossville, Tennessee passed away on March 25, 2024.  He was born on October 3, 1927, in Detroit, Michigan. He was a Coast Guard Veteran having served during WWII.  He was a member of the West Avenue Church of Christ in Crossville, Tennessee. He married his wife, Ida Iris Burger Williams, in Oakland, California on October 10, 1947, and together the couple celebrated 72 years of marriage before her passing.  He worked for many years until his retirement with the Michigan Department of Education.

He is survived by his son, Clifford C. (Pam) Williams of Roseville, Michigan, daughter, Gloria Lynn (Dwight) Campbell of Atlanta, Michigan, grandchildren, John Jeremy Scott, Maria Elena Williams, and Alex Morgan Williams; great-grandchildren, Alaina Elizabeth Williams, and Eva Janae Harris; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Iris Williams.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 26, 2024, at 7:00 PM at Hood Funeral Home, Crossville, Tennessee. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

An additional service will be held for John on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Green Funeral Home, Atlanta with visitation beginning at noon until the service time at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow services at Loud Township Cemetery, Atlanta.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to West Avenue Church of Christ in Crossville, Tennessee or Alpena Church of Christ in Alpena, Michigan.
