Kenneth Benac Jr.

b. December 18, 2019

Kenneth Joseph Benac, Jr. Kenneth Joseph Benac, Jr. of Hillman, Michigan was relieved of his Earthly pain on Saturday, December 18 at the age of 56. Kenneth or "Kenny" fought bravely against a sudden illness and was surrounded by friends and loved ones for over a week before he passed. He was cared for at Mid-Michigan Medical Center of Alpena. Kenny was a loving man who was very devoted to his family and anyone who met him was blessed with an instant friendship with a kind, open, thoughtful person and a great father. Gifted with a gentle and teasing sense of humor, Kenny loved to make people laugh with his dry and clever wit. Beyond his humor, he was also gifted with a hardworking nature and he would bend over backwards to help anyone in any way he could. One of his most giving moments came when he moved back to Hillman from Florida to live with his father for nearly a year to help him as he lived through his waning days of a serious illness. Skilled in many trades, Kenny worked at Wayne Wire, hung drywall, did lawn maintenance, worked as a bartender, and more. In his spare time, Kenny enjoyed watching horror movies with his brother Ray, spending time with his friend Donald Baker, fishing, spending time in the woods, and riding his four-wheeler. Artistic skills came easily to him, including woodworking, drawing, and painting. He is survived by son, Kenneth Joseph Benac III of Ossineke; daughter, Brandy Moore of Hillman; step-daughter, Angie (Benac) Haskins of Ossineke; brothers, Ray and Sue (Smith) Benac of Hillman; and Michael Benac of Sturgis, Michigan; sister, Belinda Benac of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida; half-brother, Eric Benac of Traverse City; half-sister, Kendra (Benac) Barrie of Hillman; step-mother, Bonnie (Elowsky) Benac, and many nieces and nephews. Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Joseph Benac Sr; and mother, Bonnie Mann. As were his wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial held in celebration of his life at a later date.
