Kenneth Russell Longpre, 93, of Hillman, passed away Wednesday evening February 25, 2026 at his home. The son of Gordon and Clara (Klein) Longpre was born on August 16, 1932 in Rust Township. He graduated from Hillman High School in 1951. Shortly after graduation, he entered the United States Army and served in the Korean War. After returning from Korea, he married Deloris Schalk on September 15, 1956, in Hillman.

Ken worked in Alpena for Bear’s Plumbing and Heating, and then for Ken’s Plumbing and Heating, for 40+ years. He enjoyed being home, gardening, and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Howard; and a sister, Eleanore Wikaryasz. Surviving are his wife, Deloris, son, Roger (Melissa) Longpre, daughter, Karen (Jim) Myers, four grandchildren, Hallie (Hunter) Chunko, Anna Callender, Travis, and Connor Myers.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 2, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Funeral at St. John's Lutheran Church in Royston. Burial will take place in the Spring. Memorials are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church of Royston or Hospice of Michigan. Arrangements were entrusted to Green Funeral Homes.
