Laura May Griffin

Laura Griffin, age 75, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2026, in Petoskey.

The daughter of Donald Straugh was born on September 30, 1950 in Oakland County. Laura grew up in Waterford and Port Huron, moving to Hillman in 1979 to raise her family, and retiring from Wayne Wire. She spent her remaining years in Lewiston with her daughter.

Laura had a sense of humor, always making humor of all circumstances with a humorous laugh. She enjoyed all crafting, crocheting, needle point, and cross words. She had a feline companion that was near and dear to her for many years, Miss Kitty.

She was preceded in death by her father and a granddaughter, Amanda Carter.

Surviving are her three children, Theresa (Chad) Drumb, Jerry Cummings, and Bill (Tim Monahan) Griffin; four grandchildren, Douglas Drumb, Shawna Drumb, Amie Carter, Makyla Barris; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Darlene Huff.

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember her privately at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to Green Funeral Homes.
