Lawrence Ernest Mack Mr. Lawrence Ernest Mack, 82 of Lewiston, Michigan died peacefully on July 18, 2017 at Aspen Ridge in Gaylord. He was born on October 15, 1934 to the late, Ernest and Esther (Patton) Mack in Toledo, Ohio. He served his country proudly in the United States Air National Guard. He was born and raised in Toledo where he graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Lawrence married Carol Rice on April 23, 1960 in Toledo, OH. He retired from the General Motors Tech Center in Warren after 30 years in 1986. He then moved to Lewiston where he previously resided for the last 30 years. While living in Lewiston, Lawrence was active in various clubs and organizations including the Lewiston Curling Club, the Lions Club where he was past president, and Boy Scout Troops #1930 of Warren and #18 of Lewiston where he served as Boy Scout master. When Lawrence wasn't working or volunteering his time he enjoyed backpacking and hiking, wind surfing with his dog on Tee Lake, golf, and downhill skiing. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed to breathe in the fresh air. He was well known for his response to any question asking about how much farther, it was always "a mile or more," he lived his life to its fullest and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Mack of Lewiston; sons, Bill (Becca) Mack of Thornton, Colorado; David (Kathy) Mack of Commerce Township; daughter, Donna (Mike) Venglar of Farwell; grandchildren, Brian, Eric, Tim, and Derek; great-grandchildren, Isabel, Gianna, Caroline, Blaise, and one on the way; sister, Maralyn (Jim) Smith of University Park, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Esther Mack. Funeral services for Mr. Mack will take place at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 24, 2017 at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church; Lewiston. Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the Green Funeral Home; Lewiston from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of service. Interment will follow at the St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
