Mr. Leslie Laverne Mitchell Jr, 73 of Atlanta, Michigan passed away on May 26, 2026 in Atlanta. He was born in Alpena, Michigan on August 21, 1952 to the late Leslie and Doris (Carlson) Mitchell Sr. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his honorable service and acts of valor. Following his military service, Leslie worked at General Motors until retiring and moving north. He was a member of the Atlanta Full Gospel Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether he was reeling in his biggest catch from a day of fishing, or feeling the wind on his face while riding his Harley Davidson. He is and will be deeply missed.

Leslie is remembered by his children, Eric Mitchell, Brianna Mitchell, Danny Lovelace; grandchildren, Eric Mitchell Jr, Joslyn Neighorne, Kennedy Klein, Joey Klein III, Trenton Johnson, Connor Johnson, and Joslyn Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Doris Mitchell; brother, Jack Mitchell; sisters, Judith Cameron and Stella Newell.

Funeral services for Leslie will take place at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 1, 2026 at the Atlanta Full Gospel Assembly of God Church, Pastor Dave Fisher officiating. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM until time of service. Interment will follow services at Briley Township Cemetery where Leslie will be laid to rest. Arrangements were entrusted to Green Funeral Homes.
