Lewis Hunt

Lewis Lougheed Hunt Mr. Lewis Lougheed Hunt, 71 of Lewiston, Michigan died peacefully surrounded by family on August 25, 2015 at his home. He was born to the late, Herbert and Eileen (Lougheed) Hunt in Detroit, Michigan on December 6, 1943. On March 16, 1979 he married wife, Elizabeth (Centofanti) Hunt in Roseville and together they celebrated 36 years of marriage before his passing. The couple has lived in Lewiston for the last 20 years, formerly of Eastpointe. Lewis worked for the Police Department of Eastpointe for over 30 years, retiring in 1995 as Chief of Police. He was a past member of the Lions Club in Eastpointe and enjoyed various hobbies including; golfing and fishing. Above everything, he enjoyed the time he spent with family and friends and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Hunt of Lewiston; children, Leigh Sears of Algonac; Kelly (Matthew) Matusiak of Chesterfield; Lewis (Laura) Hunt of Eastpointe; Stacy (Brian) Petit of Algonac; nine grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; sister, Hala (Gerald) Orlowski of Troy; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Eileen Hunt. As were his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial held in celebration of his life at 1:00PM on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Rustic Inn Restaurant; 3163 N Red Oak Rd, Lewiston. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorial donations be sent to Hospice of Sunrise Shore, Alpena or the AML Foundation.
