Lillie Katherine Whitney Mrs. Lillie Katherine Whitney, 75 of Vienna, Michigan died peacefully at her home on June 18, 2016. She was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on March 6, 1941 to the late, Henry and Della (Maynard) Roland. She married her husband, Robert Whitney on December 6, 1985 and together the couple celebrated 30 years of marriage before her passing. Lillie owned and operated Elk View Cabins and Guide Service and was one of very few women elk guides. She was very successful in her business and took four of the top elk in Michigan, including the state record. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting for elk sheds, mushroom and berry picking. She liked casino trips and loved Marilyn Monroe, oftentimes watching her movies all day long. She enjoyed crafting and would crochet and make cards. Aside from her hobbies, Lillie was very family oriented and loved the time spent with her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Whitney of Vienna; sons, Michael Johnson of Flint; Timothy Johnson of Lennon; daughters, Chris (Beau) Truxell of Flint; Jaimi (Det) James of Indianapolis; stepchildren, Angela Whitney of Otisville; Robert Whitney of Marion; Marjorie (Keith) Phipps of Waterford; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister, Mabel (Bill) Abernathy of Lennon. Funeral services for Mrs. Whitney will take place at 11:00AM on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Green Funeral Home; Atlanta; Pastor Dave Fisher officiating. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place on Wednesday at 2:00PM at Gingell Cemetery; Vienna Township.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Whitney of Vienna; sons, Michael Johnson of Flint; Timothy Johnson of Lennon; daughters, Chris (Beau) Truxell of Flint; Jaimi (Det) James of Indianapolis; stepchildren, Angela Whitney of Otisville; Robert Whitney of Marion; Marjorie (Keith) Phipps of Waterford; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister, Mabel (Bill) Abernathy of Lennon.
