Linda Modine

Mrs. Linda Lloyd (Cashman) Modine died at age 81 in Hillman, Michigan on October 25, 2022 after suffering a long illness. Linda first came to Hillman as an infant and considered Hillman her home, but she was born in Illinois, had lived in California and Oregon, and still had a winter residence in Oak Ridge, Tennessee where her husband worked for many years. Linda was an artist whose work included portrait paintings, and prize-winning three-dimensional pieces that were exhibited in several museums.  Linda often incorporated fiber into her art pieces, and she was sometimes referred to as “the spinner lady” because she gave fiber-spinning exhibitions at local events.

Linda is survived by her husband, Franklin Modine; son, Normand Modine; daughter, Laura Modine; grandson, Arthur Modine; granddaughter, Pearl Modine; and brother, John Cashman. Private services will be scheduled later.
