Marjorie June Schlak Marjorie June Schlak, 82 of Hillman passed away Monday, January 1, 2007 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. Marjorie was born June 10, 1924 in Sarnac, Mi, the daughter of Ray and Eliza (Samson) Torpy. Marjorie worked for a number of years at Essex Wire in Atlanta and also did home health care for many people in the area. She was an active member of St John's Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Association. She also loved sewing, knitting and crocheting and her trips to the casino. Marjorie is survived by her sons Bill Schlak of Frankfort, Mi, Dennis (Diane) Schlak of Gaylord, and Larry Schlak of Sault Ste Marie, Mi, daughters Lois Miles of Pinconning, Mi, Cheryl (John) Barrie of Fenton, MI, Linda (Russell) Dice of Hillman, Christine Jarvis and Brenda (John) Schlak both of Homosassa , 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Otto, son Kevin, brothers Pat, Louie, and Ray Torpy and sisters Ruth Fisher and Mary Ridgeway and son-in-laws Daniel Miles and Clifford Jarvis Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday from St John's Lutheran Church Pastor Jason Mandley officiating. Burial will be in Montmorency Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 4-9 P M Wednesday. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Green Funeral Home Hillman.
