Mr. Michael Francis Tucker, 64 of Lewiston, Michigan died suddenly on September 14, 2020 at his home. He was born in Flint, Michigan on September 10, 1956 to the late, Elmer and Margaret (Adams) Tucker. Michael was raised in Lewiston and from 1956-1997 worked in various places across Michigan. He honorably served in the Army National Guard from 1991-2010 and obtained five different MOS's. He served during Operation Iraqi Freedom and was deployed to Kuwait and Iraq between August 24, 2005 and August 23, 2006. He received various awards and medals including; Army Commendation medal, Army Good Conduct medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement medal, National Defense Service medal (2nd award), Iraq Campaign medal, Global War on Terrorism Service medal, Non-commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (2nd award), Army Service ribbon, Overseas Service ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve medal with mechanical device, Driver and Mechanic badge with mechanical bar. From 1997-2015 he worked as a North Carolina State Corrections Officer as a PERT (Prison Emergency Response Team) Member. Michael was also a member of the American Legion, VFW Veteran of Foreign Wars, and the Masons. He was a patriot who loved anything with our American flag. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, carpentry, and tinkering with vehicles. He loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Michael will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his son, Sean (Meghan) Tucker of Chesapeake, Virginia; daughter, Amber (Kevin) Mallak of Oscoda; grandchildren, Sage, Norah, and Colton; niece, Tracy (Jeff Prentice) Hartwell of Lewiston; nephew, Dane Hartwell; great-nephews, Shane, Trent, and Brendan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Margaret Tucker; and sister, Mary Ellen.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
