Hillman

Mr. Nelson Albert Farrier, 82 of Hillman, Michigan died peacefully at Traverse Manor in Traverse City, Michigan on June 20, 2025. He was born in Saginaw, Michigan on June 23, 1942 to the late Merlin and Marian (Morrison) Farrier. Nelson resided in Hillman his entire life. He married the beautiful Bonnie (Guy) Farrier in January of 1960 and together the couple celebrated 65 years of marriage before his passing. They both attended the Hillman Methodist Church. Nelson drove truck and hauled steel all over the United States for 24 years. After retiring from truck driving, Nelson owned and operated Farrier Auto Sales for many years. As a hobby, he enjoyed hunting, whether he was training dogs on a rabbit, running dogs on a bear, or spending time at his camp hunting for that year’s largest buck to take home. He thoroughly loved the outdoors. Family was very important to Nelson. He had lots of friends and lots of hunting partners, but Bonnie and his siblings meant the world to him. He is and will be deeply missed.

Nelson is remembered by his loving wife, Bonnie Farrier; siblings, Christine Robinson, and Rodney (Amy) Farrier; grandchildren, Daniel Farrier, Nathan (Beth) Farrier, and numerous other grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Fran Farrier-Clough and her family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merlin and Marian Farrier; sons, David Todd and Jeffrey Nelson; and granddaughter, Jessica.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember him privately at this time.
