Phyllis Benac

Phyllis Marie Benac Mrs. Phyllis Marie Benac, 87 of Hillman, Michigan died peacefully at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan on the morning on May 10, 2018. She was born to the late, Frank and Marie (Sheldon) O'Neil in Flint, Michigan on April 14, 1931. Phyllis graduated from Central Michigan University with her Master's degree in elementary education and went on to teach in Alpena County elementary schools for 34 years before retiring. After retirement she worked as a Hospice Bereavement instructor for 11 years. Formerly of Alpena, she resided in Hillman for the last 30 years and was a member of the Calvary Episcopal Church. She loved to read and enjoyed traveling. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her brother, William (Marion) O'Neil of Hillman; three nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Marie O'Neil; husband, Willis; son, Kim; and brothers, Kenneth and Frank. Funeral services for Mrs. Benac will take place at 12:00PM on Monday, May 14, 2018 at Green Funeral Home, Hillman. Visitation will take place on Sunday, May 13, 2018 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM. Interment will take place at Hillman-Rust Township Cemetery, Hillman.
She is survived by her brother, William (Marion) O'Neil of Hillman; three nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Marie O'Neil; husband, Willis; son, Kim; and brothers, Kenneth and Frank.
