Renate Eleanor Pruyt Mrs. Renate Eleanor Pruyt, 70 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully on August 11, 2016 at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord. She was born to the late, Joseph and Alfreda Trapp in Germany on December 6, 1945. She married her husband, Ronald Pruyt on July 6, 1965 in Germany and together the couple celebrated 51 years of marriage before her passing. The couple moved to Atlanta in 1996, formerly of Waterford. Renate worked as a cook at the Atlanta Senior Center and helped with the "Meals on Wheels" program for many years. She was a member of the Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Her hobbies included gardening and her love for flowers, as well as animals and being outdoors mushroom picking. Above everything, she enjoyed her time spent with family and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Pruyt of Atlanta; son, Ron (Lara) Pruyt Jr. of Lansing, Kansas; daughter, Diana (Chris) Sorgatz of South Lyon; grandchildren, Briana, Tabitha, Kara, Joey; sister, Kathy Perry of Boston, Massachusetts; and brother, Theo Trapp of Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Alfreda Trapp. Funeral services for Mrs. Pruyt will take place at 11:00AM on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church; Atlanta; Fr. Michael Conner officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00AM until time of service.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Pruyt of Atlanta; son, Ron (Lara) Pruyt Jr. of Lansing, Kansas; daughter, Diana (Chris) Sorgatz of South Lyon; grandchildren, Briana, Tabitha, Kara, Joey; sister, Kathy Perry of Boston, Massachusetts; and brother, Theo Trapp of Germany.
