Richard Schoening

Richard Charles Schoening Mr. Richard Charles Schoening, 74 of Atlanta, Michigan passed away at Alpena Regional Medical Center on January 04, 2014. He was born on June 24, 1939 in Grass Lake, Michigan, the son of Fred and Bernice (Bates) Schoening. On May 20, 1977 in West Virginia he married wife, Martha (Milke) Schoening and together they celebrated 36 years of marriage before his passing. The couple resided in Atlanta for the past thirty years, formerly of Florida. Richard retired as a heavy equipment operator for Union Local 324 after 30+ years of service. He loved the outdoors and going hunting and fishing. Above all, he loved his family and his time spent with them. He is survived by loving wife, Martha Schoening of Atlanta; daughters, Debbie Dowds of Jackson; Sandy (Kevin) Duckham of Albion; Donna (Gary) Rexroad of Dunkirk, Ohio; Linda Schoening of Jackson; Mary (Steve) Truchell of Macomb; Shanna (Jason) Bucholtz of Atlanta; Joanne (Kris) Switalski of Atlanta; sons, Richard "Bub" Schoening; Fred (Olivia) Schoening; and Leonard (Jessica) Schoening all of North Dakota; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bernice Schoening; daughter, Barbara Schoening; sister, Betty; and brother, Sonny. Funeral services for Mr. Schoening will take place at 1:00PM, Wednesday, January 08, 2014 at the Green Funeral Home; Atlanta, Michigan; Deacon Gary Rexroad officiating. Visitation will take place from 11:00AM until time of service.
