Robert Anthony Deskovitz Mr. Robert Anthony Deskovitz, 79 of Lewiston, MI, died peacefully on the late morning of June 29, 2017 surrounded by family. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late, Mike and Esthma (Darensburg) Deskovitz on May 10, 1938. He married his loving wife, Louise (Denham) Deskovitz on October 24, 1959 in Lincoln Park and together the couple celebrated 57 years of marriage before his passing. The couple resided in Lewiston since 2003, formerly from Woodhaven. While living in Woodhaven, Robert worked as the manager for Michigan Hydrant and Valve and then went on to work for Price Brothers where he retired in 1999. He was a past member of the Teamsters when he worked in trucking. Aside from working, Robert enjoyed a variety of hobbies including trips to the casino, tinkering with snowmobiles, road bikes, and cars; and fishing, especially for rainbow trout. He was a hard working man that never complained and an amazing son to his parents. Above everything, he enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Louise Deskovitz of Lewiston; daughters, Deborah Porter of Reston, Virginia, Judy (Tim) Gray of Belleville, Mary (Stephen) Thompson of Herndon, Virginia, Theresa (Earl) Dunn of Chesterfield Township, and Susan (Matt) Murdock of Madison Heights; grandchildren, Brittney, Maressa, Branton, Stephen, Chris, Bryce, Robert, Kaitlin, and Mackenzie; great-grandchildren, Layla, MarleeJane, Nalana, Alaina; and brothers, Michael Deskovitz of Sturgis and Richard Deskovitz of Alden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike and Esthma Deskovitz; granddaughter, Brynn Porter; great-granddaughter, Raelee Ann Beadle; sister, Anna Murphy; and son-in-law, Scott "Crash" Porter. Funeral services for Mr. Deskovitz will take place at 2:00PM on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Green Funeral Home; Lewiston; Pastor Dave Fisher officiating. Visitation will take place at noon until time of service. Interment will be at Albert Township Cemetery; Lewiston. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorials to Hospice of Michigan, Gaylord.
