Mr. Robert Earl Nihranz, 81 of Lewiston, Michigan died peacefully at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey on March 10, 2020. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 1, 1938 to the late, Earl and Marjorie (Thompson) Nihranz. He married his late wife, Agnes (Janish) Nihranz in Roseville on May 31, 1957 and together the couple celebrated 54 years of marriage before her passing in 2012. The couple had resided in Lewiston since 1976. Robert owned and operated the Marathon gas station in Lewiston for seven years and then the Shell gas station. He worked as a mechanic and fleet superintendent for Great Scott Grocery Stores. He enjoyed traveling, tinkering in his woodshop building birdhouses, gardening, and being outdoors. He adored his dog, Peaches, and time spent with family. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his son, Mark Nihranz of Lewiston; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack (Marcia) Nihranz of Ossineke; Ron (Karen) Nihranz of Oxford; sisters, Joanie Mobley of Manistee; and Phyllis Boyd of Utica. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Marjorie Nihranz; wife, Agnes; sons, Bob and Dennis.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember Robert privately at this time.
