Mr. Roger Charles Stevens, 77 of Johannesburg, Michigan, took his final post on May 4, 2025. He was welcomed into Heaven with outstretched arms by his late daughter, Amber. Roger was born in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Wilfred and Dorothy Stevens on January 9, 1948. He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps, receiving several accommodations, including the Purple Heart and Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars. After his discharge from the Marines in 1969, Roger met his beautiful wife, Deborah (Weston) Stevens who he married on April 19, 1970. Together they built a beautiful life and celebrated 55 years of marriage before his passing. Roger enjoyed hunting and fishing. He shared his love for fishing with his girls when they were little, taking them out on his boat on West Twin Lake. He also enjoyed ice fishing with his son-in-law and grandsons.
Roger could often be found wearing his overalls and tinkering in his garage. A man of few words at times, he had a very big heart. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Roger is remembered by his loving wife, Deborah Stevens; daughters, Jamie Kurth, Rachel Stevens, Tracey (Mark) Lauret; grandchildren, Michael (Emily), Brody, Marcus, and Lucas; sisters, Joanne McIntire and Jan Stevens; and grand dog, Nash. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Dorothy Stevens; and daughter, Amber Hutchison.
A memorial will be held in celebration of Roger’s life at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Green Funeral Home, Lewiston. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM until time of service.
