Ronald David Marquardt, age 71, of Hillman passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024 at home surrounded by family. Ronald was born on February 2, 1953 in Bay City, Michigan to Ronald and Janice (Badgero) Marquardt. Ron graduated from Hillman High School in 1971. He owned and operated Ron Marquardt Builders for a number of years. Ron had a gift for making new friends and taking care of others. He married his high school sweetheart in December of 1971 and together they celebrated 52 years of marriage. Ron enjoyed golfing with friends and family, fishing in Minnesota with his brothers, camping in the U.P., snowmobiling, and going on trips with Robin on his motorcycle and skiing with family in Colorado. He also was an avid hunter and loved spending time in the woods with his brothers and nephews. Spending time with his family was probably with favorite pastime. He was proud of his daughters, his son, and grandchildren. He attended as many of their sports activities as he could. He also was a volunteer running chains for a number of years for the Hillman football team. Ron will be greatly missed by his family.

 Ron is survived by his wife, Robin; daughters, Jennifer (Bill) Miller of Harbor Springs; Jill (Shane) Friandt of Illinois; granddaughters, Isabella and Lily Miller; grandsons, Aiden and Parker Friandt; mother, Janice Brown of Largo, Florida; brothers, Dan (Marsha) Marquardt of Hillman; Thomas (Paula) Marquardt of Troy; Marty (Rocita) Brown of Bremerton, Washington; sister, Michelle (Davey) Courtney of Vail, Colorado; sisters-in-law, Mary Marquardt of Largo, Florida; Eileen (Dennis) Klinger of New York; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews who adored him; aunts, Shirley Marquardt, and Sheryl Talley; and many cousins. Ronald was preceded in death by his son, Scott; father, Ronald Marquardt; brother’s, Gary, Gerald, and Francis Patrick; sister-in-law, Denise; nephew, Adam; stepfather, Francis Brown; and uncle, Paul Marquardt who was like a second father to him. 

 In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family wishes to remember him privately at this time.
