Shelby Jean Harris

Shelby Jean Harris, 86 of Lewiston, Michigan died peacefully surrounded by the love of family on the morning of November 13, 2025. She was born on March 31, 1939 in Marion, Kentucky to Lindsey and Geneva (Andrews) Asher. The family moved to Detroit when Shelby was five years old. She married Ralph Eugene Harris and celebrated 57 years of marriage with him while living in Belleville. He preceded her in death in 2014. In 2024, Shelby moved to Lewiston with her daughter, Jeanna. She had a variety of hobbies including gardening, going to garage sales, gambling, helping her daughter with harvesting deer, cooking for the holidays, and most importantly, spending time with her family. She loved her dog, Jager and her cat, Copper. She is and will be greatly missed.

Shelby is remembered by her daughter, Jeanna Natale; granddaughter, Shelby Maria (Chase) Basham; brother, Dennis Asher; dear friends, Rita Vatale, Dave Wheeler, and Alyssa Carroll. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lindsey and Geneva Asher; and siblings, Juanita Robins, Shirley Suppon, and Bud Asher.

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a private memorial held in celebration of Shelby’s life.
