Shirley Ann Newton Mrs. Shirley Ann Newton, 79 of Fairview, Michigan formerly of Atlanta, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 27, 2016. She was born on December 23, 1936 in Cheboygan, Michigan the daughter of Ted and Pearl (Cannon) Ache. She married her husband, Emory Newton Jr. in Onaway on April 13, 1956. Shirley moved from Atlanta to Fairview where she resided for the last 18 years. She was a member of the Atlanta Full Gospel Assembly of God Church as well as a past member of the Atlanta VFW Ladies and Rebekahs. She loved to play BINGO and enjoyed shopping. Above everything she enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her sons, Emory (Gloria) Newton Jr. of Alpena; Dan (Lori) Newton of Lupton; daughters, Terri (Bill) Shattuck of Mio; Tena Orchard of Fairview; Debbie (Juan) Avolos of Gagetown; Kellie (John) Anderson of Dickson, Tennessee; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; sister, Beverly (Lloyd) James of Tower; and caregivers, Beatrice Churchill and Debra Haney. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Pearl Ache; husband, Emory; son, Phillip; grandsons, Joshua Kamen, David Newton, and David Orchard; sister, Debra; brothers, Eugene and Edward Ache. Funeral services for Mrs. Newton will take place at 1:00PM on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Atlanta Full Gospel Assembly of God Church; Atlanta; Pastor David Fisher officiating. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Green Funeral Home from 5:00PM until 9:00PM.
She is survived by her sons, Emory (Gloria) Newton Jr. of Alpena; Dan (Lori) Newton of Lupton; daughters, Terri (Bill) Shattuck of Mio; Tena Orchard of Fairview; Debbie (Juan) Avolos of Gagetown; Kellie (John) Anderson of Dickson, Tennessee; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; sister, Beverly (Lloyd) James of Tower; and caregivers, Beatrice Churchill and Debra Haney.
