Mr. Thomas Paul Koenig, 56 of Hillman, Michigan passed away suddenly on June 7, 2024 at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland. He was born on February 22, 1968 in Alpena, Michigan to the late Paul and Evelene (Bentley) Koenig. He resided in Hillman all of his life where he operated the family dairy farm after purchasing it from his father. He also worked for Via-Tech in Lachine. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Royston. Thomas had a variety of hobbies including reading, watching sci-fi movies, and hunting. He loved spending time with his beloved niece, Olivia and her children, as well as his best friend Paul Bennett and his wife, Jenny. He was the Godfather to both of their children. His wonderful cousin, Laurie Sauer supplied him with endless chocolate chip cookies. Thomas is and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his siblings, Donna (David) Benac; Bill (Shandra) Koenig; Rhonda Brown; beloved nieces and nephews, Olivia Shields, Dakoda, Logan, and Aaron (Carrie) Shields; great-nieces and great-nephews, Eli Shields, Evy Shields, Remi Wrenley, and Rye; and bonus sister, Debbie Carlon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Evelene Koenig.
Funeral services for Thomas will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 10, 2024 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Royston; Pastor Jason Mandley officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until time of service. Interment will follow services at Montmorency Township Cemetery where Thomas will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.
